Your Double, your data.

The short version.
- Your About You page is read on your own device. We don't see it unless you choose to keep your Double.
- Guesses about your body or health, and lines about kids, never leave your device. Your Double has standards, and so do we.
- Nothing gets bought unless you say yes at a store's own checkout.
- We don't sell or rent your data, run ads, or use affiliate links.

What happens where
On this page
- A screenshot you add is read on your device. It isn't uploaded.
- Pasted text is read the same way.
- The receipt is made on your device.
- The page loads fonts from Google Fonts and code from jsDelivr and cdnjs. Like any website request, those services see your IP address. They don't see what's on your receipt.
In Claude
If you open this page inside Claude, your own Claude account reads your screenshot. That runs under your agreement with Anthropic. We don't receive it.
The Simulated Shopping extension
- It asks for no permissions. It sees your Amazon About You page only when you click it, and only that page.
- It reads the text already on screen. It doesn't click, navigate, sign in or make requests to Amazon.
- It sorts the lines on your computer, then hands them to this page in your own browser.
- It sends us nothing. It keeps your last receipt on your computer.
Receipt links
- A receipt link carries its own items, so we don't store receipts.
- VOID lines ride after the
#in the link. Browsers never send that part to a server, so ours never sees them.
Talking to your Double, on this site
- To answer you, your Double's shoppable lines and your messages go to Anthropic's Claude API.
- Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, and doesn't train on them (Anthropic's policy).
- We keep a message count per Double, for the free limit, and nothing else.
- VOID lines and lines about kids are never sent.
Keeping your Double
- If you choose to keep it, you get a Simulated Shopping account at simulated.shopping. We email you a code: no password, no card.
- Your account holds your email, your Double's shoppable lines, its receipts and hauls, and the emails you opted into.
- VOID lines and lines about kids are never sent, and the account refuses them if they arrive.
- You can see, export or delete it all at any time. Deleting is immediate.
- Sign-in codes and the emails you opt into (Black Friday, Dec 27) come from mail.simulated.shopping, sent through Resend.
- Every email you didn't ask for has an unsubscribe link.
Buying something real
On Black Friday your Double can find a real thing at a real store. If you tap yes, you pay at that store's own checkout or in Link. We never see or hold your card, and we never complete a purchase for you.
Your rights
Under the CCPA and laws like it (Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Virginia, Texas and others), you can ask what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or delete it.
- If you kept your Double, most of this is a button in your account.
- Otherwise, write to ben@twoplanets.org. We answer within 45 days, and we don't treat you differently for asking.
Amazon's copy. Amazon holds its own copy of your About You guesses and the rest of your file, and you have rights there too. Ask Amazon at Privacy Central → Request Your Data. We never make that request for you.

The Chrome extension and Limited Use
Simulated Shopping's use of information received from its Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The extension reads one page, your Amazon About You page, only when you click it, and uses what it reads only to show you your Double. Body and health guesses and lines about kids never leave your computer. We don't sell this information, use it for advertising, or let people read it. If you choose to keep your Double, its shoppable lines are stored in your Simulated Shopping account, and you can delete them at any time.
Kids
This isn't for anyone under 18. Your Double leaves lines about kids off the receipt and never sends them anywhere.

If this changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and, if you kept your Double, by email.
